Rush's Campaign

In partnership with the Ruddle Agency, Mad Monkey debuted Rush’s first television campaign in over 50 years to the Midlands.

“This was one of our most rewarding projects to date,” said Lorie Gardner, CEO and partner of Mad Monkey.  “Rush’s and Dave Ruddle (CEO and president of The Ruddle Agency) truly embrace the idea of working as partners on a message. They were wide open to ideas, and encouraged us to talk to employees and customers alike.”

“We’re hearing that the campaign captures the service and taste experience of Rush’s loyal clients, and we think that can definitely pique the interest of newcomers,” said Michael Powelson, writer and producer at Mad Monkey.  “Fast food isn’t rocket surgery, and Rush’s understands this,” he added. “They leave the gimmicks to their competitors and focus instead on the fundamentals. Kind of like the Hoosiers of burger joints. We’re hoping for a similar ending.”

Rush’s is a Columbia staple of local fast food chains dating back to 1940, when the first Rush family drive-through restaurant, Carolina Dairies, opened in Bush River Road. In the early 1960’s, George Rush expanded the food and service options and changed the name to Rush’s- a franchise that has grown to nine locations throughout the Columbia area.

Mad Monkey is currently lobbying for a location in the Vista.
