Historic Columbia Foundation’s Interactive Maps

Zoom over and take a stroll around Columbia’s Arsenal Hill neighborhood- from your computer.

Last month Mad Monkey launched the first of six interactive maps for the Historic Columbia Foundation’s Retrace initiative. Each map has over thirty sites around the neighborhood with text, images and video of the historic properties and locations and the people who lived there.

Historic Columbia Foundation Unveils New Exhibit

Last night, Historic Columbia Foundation hosted an opening reception for a new period room (like a period piece, but instead, an entire room) in the Hampton-Preston Mansion. The room showcases elements from the College for Women and Chicora College (what eventually became a part of Queens College in Charlotte, NC). H-P was home to these colleges from 1890-1930.
